Dog Bone Cookie Cutters

Dog bone cookie cutters come in all sizes. It is most economical to purchase a set of cookie cutters which usually consist of 6 to 8 different sizes.

If you are making large dog treats, use the larger ones. For small dog treats, use the smaller sizes….or….you can even buy a set of mini small dog cookie cutters!

The cookie cutter set shown here consists of 6 ranging from very small to very large. It is difficult to find the very small size cutter which is just perfect for making homemade dog treats for small dog breeds.

Don’t stop there! This set is a great gift idea for anyone who loves to bake. And if you are promoting a pet business, why not bake some dog biscuits for your guests to enjoy (out of human-type biscuit dough of course.) You will certainly create a memorable event!

Dog cookie cutters come in all different shapes and sizes for all different themes related to dogs and what dogs like.

I have seen cookie cutters in the following shapes which are specifically dog-themed:

  • Dogs
  • Dog house
  • Fire hydrant
  • Cat
  • Mailman
  • Squirrel

There are dog holiday-themed cookie cutters. You can use regular holiday-themed cookie cutters for a specific holiday: Christmas, Easter, Hanukkah, or Halloween.

Use mini versions of the above for small and teacup-sized pets.

If a recipe calls for dog cookie cutters, feel free to substitute any shape you desire.

Since you are making dog biscuits or dog cookies, you don’t want to use really large shapes. The smaller shapes will make bite-sized treats.

Stay away from cutters that have too many edges or appendages which can easily break and result in crumbs. A Christmas tree with rounded branches will work better than one that is more realistic simulating pointed needles.

Cookie cutters are made of metal, plastic or silicone. All will work best if you rub them in a little bit of flour first so they don’t stick to the dough.
